Navigating the Transition to Low Carbon Liquid Fuels
While biodiesel has been present in our heating fuel for many years, Connecticut now requires that every gallon of heating oil contain a minimum of 5% biodiesel. In the field, you may encounter blends ranging from the minimum to 20% and even higher amounts. State law in Connecticut and other states in our region will eventually require 50% blends. Are you ready? Do you have questions? Have you figured out how and what you should be doing as we make this transition? Here is your opportunity! Connect with experts, learn, and enrich your insights at our new seminar! Answering your concerns and dispelling the myths. What your Service Techs need to know about working with biofuel - Viscosity & Vacuum, Filtration, Piping, Pressure Reducing Valves, Hydraulic Principles, BTU Outputs. Our presenters are Bob O'Brien of NORA & Industry Expert Jim Todd

Low Tech Training Seminar
This seminar was created for your receptionists, dispatchers and customer service representatives. We give your employees the opportunity to get out in the lab and see the different types of equipment found in your customers homes. Get an overview of the basic parts of the equipment to give you a better understanding of what the customer is looking at & trying to explain to you. Having the right information for the job will save your company money by determining the nature and urgency of the call before your technician arrives at your customer’s home.
New Refrigerants
Don’t miss the opportunity to gain valuable insight at our seminar on A2L refrigerants. Legislation enacted in 2020 authorized the EPA to phase down the production and use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). This will require HVAC manufacturers to transition to the next level of low-GWP (global warming potential) refrigerants for all new residential and commercial ducted HVAC systems manufactured as of Jan 1, 2025, and installed as of Jan 1, 2026. What does this mean to you as a contractor or building owner? Find out at this 2-hour session that will discuss the transition to A2L refrigerants. Presented by Scott Vadino / Regional Technical Support & Trainer at F.W. Webb Company
Residential AC Seasonal Startup
Ensure your technicians are performing all the proper steps during a seasonal start-up of a residential split system central air conditioning and heat pump systems. Let’s help your customers in maximizing reliability, safety and energy conservation. Preseason inspections may uncover problems such as and certainly not limited to; refrigerant leaks, frayed wires, corroded/worn electrical contacts, dirty coils, issues with condensate drains and pumps, all of which can lead to bigger equipment failures if left untreated. Helping your customers guard against unexpected malfunctions can ensure your customers will have a trouble-free cooling season. Bring your electrical meter and temperature tester/gauge.
Basic Principles for Heating with Heat Pumps
This seminar is designed to provide learners with an introductory overview of heat pump system operations and principles for heating. Topics will include how the refrigeration cycle relates to heating, thermostat wiring, heating mode electrical devices, defrost controls, reversing valves, refrigerant charging and safety awareness.
Essential Gas Field-Training Skills for Technicians Seminar
We’ve developed a seminar to teach your technicians how to perform basic gas service. To take what they already know about oil equipment and apply that knowledge to gas equipment. During this two day seminar we will cover lots of info relating to both natural and LP gas. Some of the topics are electrical troubleshooting, gas combustion, venting, wiring and controls. They will evaluate sequence of operation, gas pipe sizing, ignition systems and safety. Let’s review it in the classroom and work on it in the lab! Each attendee will receive a voltage meter and a gas pressure meter. Lunch is included!
JAD / EDOS - Indoor Air Quality Seminar
Understand the key, fundamental concepts of indoor air quality and identify the root causes of IAQ problems and their solutions Learn how ventilation, filtration, and humidity control plays a critical role in indoor air quality..
Combustion
Combustion Analysis / Carbon Monoxide / Fresh Air// --Combustion air is a continuous supply of air to combustion appliances to be used in the combustion of fuels and the process of venting combustion gases. Inadequate combustion air can lead to dangerous problems. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and toxic gas, which is predominantly produced by incomplete combustion of carbon-containing materials. Indoor air is filled with particulates, gases and germs that can cause illness and aggravate asthma and other respiratory problems air purification systems keeps air in the home fresh, clean, and pure.
