Growing right along with it are the jobs that maintain those systems. CETP Propane Training from ENTECH will put you right where you want to be -- at the cutting edge of a growing industry. And because the Certified Employee Training Program (CETP) was developed by the Propane Education & Research Council, CETP students have the backing of the propane industry as they pursue their technical training.
A CT G License will allow you to install, repair, alter and maintain gas piping systems and approved gas appliances. To qualify for a G License, you must complete 1,000 hours (6 months) on the job training as part of a paid apprenticeship program. But the only schooling you need to be on your way is the ENTECH program.
Upon successful completion of each course, and submission of Skills Assessment you will receive certification from NPGA, the National Propane Gas Association.
This course is the prerequisite to the more advanced courses. This course is an introduction to Propane and includes physical properties and combustion characters of propane, identifying industry standards, safety codes and regulations, identifying basic parts of tanks, cylinders, and bulk storage installation, maintaining a safe working environment, identifying commonly used hand tools and supplies and servicing the customer.
This course covers Propane delivery and includes the following: Licensing and driving requirements, inspecting and operating propane delivery vehicles, filling storage containers, bobtail basic equipment, and customer deliveries.
This course addresses designing and installing exterior portions of a vapor distribution system for both residential and small commercial markets. Students learn how to select and install containers, prevent corrosion, size and install regulators and meters and select and install outdoor piping & tubing. Students should bring the latest edition of NFPA 54 and NFPA 58 to the class as code books are NOT included in the cost of the class.
This course covers procedures of placing a vapor distribution system into operation. Addressing the different system tests required for vapor distribution systems and appliances, validating the container, piping and regulator; how and when to make final connections, how to purge the system, appliance controls and safety devices and how to adjust the burner. Students should bring the latest edition of NFPA 54 and NFPA 58 to the class as code books are NOT included in the cost of the class.
This course covers the interior of a piping system and the installation of gas appliances. The course addresses selecting and installing appliances, how to design and install interior venting systems and designing and installing interior piping and tubing. Students also learn how to perform a pressure test. Students should bring the latest edition of NFPA 54 and NFPA 58 to the class as code books are NOT included in the cost of the class.
The New Basic Electricity for Propane Appliance Service course enables participants to interpret electrical components and diagrams, and measure electrical quantities, and will aid in preparing for NPGA’s CETP certification. Basic Electricity for Propane Appliance Service is an essential tool for ensuring employee safety and continuing success. ENTECH suggests that students bring the latest editions of NFPA 54 and NFPA 58 to class. Code books are NOT included in the cost of class.
This course covers servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing basic propane appliances. For the purpose of this course, basic propane appliances are defined as simple appliances that do not have advanced controls and complex electronic ignition systems. They may have simple electronic ignition systems, such as those found in many ranges. They include 120/24 V and DC millivolt systems.
Advanced Propane Appliance Service and Troubleshooting enables participants to efficiently service, troubleshoot, and repair advanced propane appliances with electronic ignition systems. 4.6 Advanced Propane Appliance Service and Troubleshooting is an essential tool for ensuring employee safety and continuing success.

The purpose of this PERC course is to provide current information, practices, and procedures to educate HVAC and plumbing professionals on how to design, install, test, and operate propane-based HVAC and plumbing systems in a safe and efficient manner. Note: This course does not qualify toward G2 licensing.

Blended learning combines on-line training with a one day classroom review and proctored testing. The advantage of taking these courses in this format is that the student will only be away from the workplace for one day per course as opposed to the 2-4 days necessary for the current in-class study. Students must be registered in advance, and must complete their course in the allotted time in order to be admitted to the class on the scheduled day for review and testing. If they have not completed the online portion they will not be allowed to sit in class for testing.
