The next generation of HVAC technicians. That’s you.
HVAC careers offer excitement, security, and true growth potential. At Entech, you could go from learning to earning in just a few months! Our program is your first step toward a secure, well-paying future. ENTECH offers a direct path into the CT Department of Labor's apprenticeship program. From there, you’ll be able to start gaining the experience you'll need while under the employment of a licensed contractor.
In CT, there are a variety of licenses for the heating, cooling and refrigeration trades. ENTECH is proud to provide the required course work for the major licenses.
S-2 License (CT) Most Comprehensive
The most comprehensive license offered in CT. Technicians with an S-2 license can work on any Heating, Piping or Cooling equipment. To obtain an S-2 license, you must:
- Complete appropriate coursework. ENTECH provides the complete curriculum to become an S-2 license holder.
- Complete 8,000 hours (4 years) of on-the-job training through the Department of Labor's Apprenticeship program. Students who complete Entech training will graduate with 130 hours toward their apprenticeship.
If this seems like a lot of time, here’s the good news: After you finish your 6-month coursework at ENTECH, you can work and earn a paycheck while you complete your apprenticeship. You’ll be getting paid while you learn! And because ENTECH is affiliated with the Connecticut Energy Marketers Association, we have direct relationships with many of the companies that are hiring apprentices. We regularly help our students find apprenticeships.
Our Recommendation: Take all of the courses necessary to obtain an S-2 license. This will position you to move onto any other CT license you may desire in the future.
